Exited in Chains, Return in Royalty

The Taste Of Afrika, organizers of the flagship yearly program in Northern Ghana dubbed “Cultural Oneness Festival”, has launched the “Through The Exits Back To The Roots Tours” campaign under the theme “Exited in Chains, Return in Royalty” for the returns of our ancestors’ descendants in the Diaspora and us within the continent of Africa to embark on a journey “Through The Exits Back To The Roots Tours” as part of their “Cultural Roots Tours” for this year’s Cultural Oneness Festival activities.

“Through The Exits Back To The Roots Tours” campaign driven under the theme “Exited in Chains, Return in Royalty” for this year’s Cultural Oneness Festival seeks to reminisce and celebrate our Diaspora brothers and sisters who are the descendants of our ancestors that were bound and exported in chains during the Atlantic Slave Trade and now seek to return and embark on a spiritual and experiential journey to the roots for the full knowledge and   understanding on how our ancestors were seized and captured during the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade.

A typical example of our ancestors’ descendant is Chief Martin Chris Glin whose parents were witnesses of the infamous Atlantic Slave Trade; however, he has maneuvered his way to become a serial global entrepreneur and has now returned to his roots in full glory as Suñ Naa.

Thus, His Royal Highness Tolon Naa Alhaji Rtd. Major Sulemana Abubakari, Paramount Chief of Tolon Traditional Council, has enskinned Chief Martin Chris Glin as Suñ Naa of Tolon Traditional Area and he has been given a vast land for the construction of his palace and integration into the community as a Royal.

“Through The Exits Back To The Roots” campaign tours will have our brothers and sisters from the Diaspora taken on a spiritual and experiential journey from the exits to the roots of our ancestors. The exits comprise various Castles and Forts where our ancestors exited in chains during the Atlantic Slave Trade.

Afterward, our brothers and sisters from the Diaspora will return to their roots in their full royalty and glory and not in chains this time as in the case of Chief Martin Chris Glin, Suñ Naa of Tolon Traditional Area.
